Tech Resiliance

This article talks about Intel and IBM's ability to perform, or outperform expectations of market analysts. With todays current real esate and financial sectors in a slump, many analysts expected demmand for personal computers as well as the semi-conductors that help make them run to be limited. For Intel, this was hardly the case, sales and profits both exceeded predictions in the last quarter. In adittion, at IBM sales of computer services rose at the fastest rate in the last four years.
This should cause some concern going into the usually highly profitable holiday season. If many consumers have been continuing to buy in the last quarter, which we can see they have, then there should be some concern about already built up inventory. So will consumers show up in high enough numbers to keep Intel on this pace to finish off a strong year.
