The MiniAture Robot for Surgical Applications (MARS) is already FDA-approved for orthopedic and spinal surgery. I think this is just amazing on how far our technology has come to. This robot has GPS accuracy for keyhole neurosurgery. When dealing with any type of surgery, every millimeter will count greatly, so is it fair to say that this robot can be more accurate than humans? This article really makes me wonder if I would trust a robot with my own surgery even if the U.S. had already FDA approved it. What if it malfunctions during the procedure? But then again human error can and always will be present.
