Printer manufactures put a chip in every toner cartridge to lock you from using third party toner cartridge. If they succeeded in this law suit, they will control the printing cost which means we are going to pay more for what we print. I am sure you already know the printer color cartridges are expensive. But for manufactures, they are cheap to make.
