A teen trades hacked iphone for sweet car.

http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/ptech/08/28/iphone.unlocked.ap/index.html

I should have traded my phone for Mercedes Benz. The deal is too good to be true. I got a hacked phone from Japan with 3.2 MP. Note that the highest MP camera phone in US is 2 MP.
The question is "Do you know what hacked phone is ?"

In the Internet age, anything can happen. What you need is a little creativity.

I remember when I first heard about the I-Phone. I didn’t even have an I-Pod yet. I was holding out then my dad randomly sent me an I-Pod for Christmas. I was like, SCORE! I specifically remember following the release of the I-Phone because my cellular phone coverage plan would allow me to upgrade during the same month of the release of the new I-Phone. Then I found out that Cingular had exclusive rights to the phone. How fortunate for Cingular and unfortunate for me. I was actually contemplating spending some money on something besides my hobby.

I also remember when my mom called me into the living room and told me about this young kid who cracked an I-Phone. I watched the five minute segment on the news channel and quickly called my technology buddies. We all were stoked.

I imagine that Apple put restrictions on the I-Pod and encrypted the software to not allow other service providers the opportunity to utilize the phone. The kid found it out and cracked the phone. He unlocked the restrictions that limited the phone to solely Cingular customers. I believe that Apple has/had a plan for rewiring and reprogramming the I-Phone for release to other cellular service providers after Cingular’s one year deal. Apple probably did not want to create two separate phones so I’m sure they would have similar in content.

Now Cingular must be angry! If I was a CEO at Cingular I’d want money back from Apple.

As for the kid, mad props. He’s going to have a job for life.
