The number two most popular downloading torrent site - Demonoid - went nonoperational for a little less than two weeks most recently. For those who don't know what Demonoid is, click here. It's similar or exactly like a P2P network (such as Kazaa, Napster, Bearshare, etc.), but provides more features and reliable downloads than P2P. Users can look at comments to make sure they are downloading the right file - whether it is music, programs, movies, or games - and is technically the norm of downloading these days.
Demonoid went down because their servers are currently based in Canada, and recently, the CRIA took action to track users and the types of file they download, which slowed down the process. I found out about this site a month and a half ago, about 3 weeks before it temporarily went down, and I personally like the format and layout.
