Blogs have become a popular tool for small businesses, which see them as an easy and inexpensive marketing tool and as a way to differentiate themselves from their competitors,. According to Anita Campbell, editor of the blog Small Business Trends, blogs are tailored made for small businesses and a better tool for them then they are for large businesses. She states that large businesses have to worry about what they can say in blogs because of SEC regulations and their different constituents. Blogs can also be used for small business to tell their story and make contacts.
An important aspect in business is creating a relationship with your customer and understanding their needs. I think blogs are an excellent way for small businesses to connect with their customers on a more informal and personal level. Blogs can be used to recieve feedback from customers or to inform customers about new products or trends in the company.

Interesting point. It is really an in-expensive way to connect to customers.
ReplyDeleteI think small and large companies could really benefit from blogging. People seem more likely to open up on blogs because the person only sees a screen when they are typing away. I would think that past, current, and future customers would be more inclined to leave honest feedback. They may not do this in a tactful way but regardless I think the information blogging can channel to the company would be vital.
